§00 · MARKETS · SECTORS · 11 SECTORS

Where India
deploys capital.

4,116 listed stocks
Methodology · January 2026

A live map of every sector with at least one active stock, sized by aggregate market cap and tinted by today's average move. Total tracked sector cap is ₹432.03 L cr. Financial services alone is roughly 23% of the listed universe — the heatmap below makes that asymmetry impossible to miss.

§01 · SECTORS · TODAY · SNAPSHOT

The three sectors worth knowing about today.

Leader and laggard are average 1-day moves across each sector's constituents. Heavyweight is total market cap. The three together frame the day: who moved, who didn't, and who dominates the index regardless.

§02 · SECTORS · DISTRIBUTION · HEATMAP

Capital, sized by weight. Direction, tinted by today.

Each cell's area is proportional to that sector's share of total listed market cap. The fill encodes today's average 1-day move: green for gains, terracotta for losses, neutral surfaces for flat or unknown.

Treemap of 11 sectors. Financial Services carries the largest share at 23 percent of total market cap. Today's leader is Technology at +1.77%. Today's laggard is Real Estate at +0.18%.

§03 · SECTORS · MOVERS · TOP / BOTTOM

Today's six edges.

The three sectors with the strongest average gain and the three with the steepest average loss — a coincident snapshot of where breadth is leading and where it is breaking.

§04 · SECTORS · UNIVERSE · 11 SECTORS

Every sector, by weight.

Ordered by aggregate sector market cap descending. The 1-day % column is the equal-weight average move across each sector's constituents — a coincident indicator, not a forecast.

Sector flows ordered by total market capitalisation; columns include rank, sector name, sector cap in INR crore, share of total cap as percent, average 1-day percent change, and number of constituent stocks.

How sector flow is built

Bottom-up from stock-level data, not a third-party feed.

Each stock in our universe is tagged with its industry classification by NSE / BSE. The sector aggregate is the sum of constituent market caps and the equal-weight average of constituents' daily percent change. We do not market-cap-weight the percent change column on purpose — large caps would dominate and the daily breadth signal would disappear into one or two names.

Stocks with active = 0 (delisted, suspended, merged-away) are excluded; stocks with no live price for the day are excluded from the average move but counted in the constituents number.

The treemap above is a slice-and-dice approximation of a squarified treemap — each rectangle's area is proportional to its sector's share of total market cap, allocated on a 12-column grid server-side at render time so there is no client JS and no layout shift. Below 768px viewport the heatmap collapses to a vertical bar list to stay legible on mobile.

The 1-day move is a coincident indicator. It tells you what happened today; it does not predict tomorrow. Use it alongside flow data and earnings calendars, not in isolation. Full methodology · reviewed January 2026.
